Bio

Lana Chiu, a passionate and lively music teacher, was born in Hong Kong. Her enthusiasm for singing began at an early age and continued to flourish throughout her academic journey. In her third year of high school, Lana started formal vocal training and, in 2014, achieved distinctions in the ABRSM Grade 8 exams for piano, vocal, and intermediate level organ. She graduated from the Hong Kong Baptist University’s School of Continuing Education, Music Department, and is currently a fourth-year student at the National Taiwan University of Arts, Music Department.

Lana has received vocal training under esteemed instructors, including Ms. Li Zhi-Ling and Ms. Huang Shu-Wen. Throughout her studies, she has actively participated in various musical activities, such as opera and oratorio performances, concerto competitions, and art song presentations. Her dedication and talent have led her to perform multiple times with the Taiwan Experimental Choir and to serve as a solo performer and competition judge in Hong Kong.

Lana’s musical journey also includes international exposure, as she participated in the Salzburg Music Festival Vocal Group in Austria, where she had the opportunity to perform. Her diverse experiences and accomplishments make her a well-rounded and inspiring music teacher, eager to share her knowledge and passion with her students.

Teaching Info

Lana teaches using the Piano Adventures book course, tailoring her lessons to each student’s personality and family’s expectations. For children under 10, she incorporates fun fingering games to make learning engaging and enjoyable.
