Bio
Live bass lessons, in person and online.
Become the bass player you want to be.
No more mystery. Just the music, the facts and how to play bass like a pro.
My name is Patrick Farrell. I am a bass player, bass teacher and a general music educator. After returning to Brisbane in 2013 I established Brisbane Bass Lessons as the face of my Brisbane teaching practice. This site feeds into my main webpage www.pwfarrell.com where most of the online stuff actually takes place.
I’ve been performing professionally for over 20 years, playing on TV shows like “Hey, Hey It’s Saturday”, “Good Morning Australia” and appearing at festivals like the India International Guitar Festival.
I currently teach at the QLD Conservatorium of Music but I’ve also taught general music to primary school kids. I just love music – performing it and sharing it. I love helping people understand not only “how to play” but also “how music works”.

Teaching Info
What is Brisbane Bass Lessons?
In-person or online bass lessons – one on one. The first thing I ask you is “what are you interested in?”. We will learn your favourite songs but there’s something extra that I offer that I’m very excited about. I have developed a bass syllabus that walks students from the earliest stage of playing through to college level musicianship. Because we work through the course together we can switch and change as needed to suit your needs.
On my main site there is a section called the Student Portal. Here you can access all materials we’re working on in lessons and you can stay up to date with what you’re supposed to be practising.
