In every class each student will be welcomed and inspired in a nurturing environment that will not only improve their musical skills but also bring to life another language that can be shared across many generations. Music enhances your co-ordination, assists with memory and improves reading and comprehension. As we as producing an amazing avenue for entertainment, relaxation and just having fun.

The Music Education Centre is a music school offering private music lessons for adults and school-aged kids, and Kindermusik classes for ages newborn to 7 years.

Established in 1992, The Music Spot began as a musical instruments store offering guitar lessons on a casual basis in a spare room. In 1996 the school was created as a separate entity from the store, and today operates eight studios six days of the week, with around 30 music teachers providing lessons on a wide range of instruments for almost 500 students.

Kindermusik classes were introduced in 2006. An internationally renowned music and movement program which has been running for over 30 years, Kindermusik is a well researched, curriculum-based program which provides a musical learning experience for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and children up to 7 years of age.

Teaching Info

All of our teachers at the Music Education Centre are professional musicians who are passionate about their chosen instrument. To be a teacher at the Music Education Centre you have to be accomplished on your instrument, knowledgeable about your instrument, knowledgeable about music-in-general, passionate about music, be a cheerful sort of person, and above all, be able to teach!

All teachers have tertiary or equivalent qualifications in music. They also have experience as performers, and most would be working musicians who gig every week. Many would also have experience in the recording studio and as songwriters. And, of course, all teachers have their Blue Card (a legal requirement for anyone working with children)
