Bio

My name is Ash Stiller and I am a multi instrumentalist aiming to increase the accessibility of instrumental education. I teach all ages and abilities according to their goals, whether to perform exams, understand their school music better, or just to have a new hobby.

I also specialise in lessons for disable and neurodiverse children and adults. I have a background in paediatric occupational therapy and can say for a fact that this population is generally less able to access musical education for a variety of reasons. I aim to make my studio a safe space for everybody who wants to learn music, so if you think I might be the right fit for you please feel welcome to reach out.

As for my musical background, I have studied at both the Jazz Music Institute and Queensland Conservatorium of Music. I am the assistant conductor of the South East Queensland Symphonic Winds, and play regularly in large and small ensembles and as a soloist. I love all genres of music and like to play as many as I can.

Teaching Info

For all new students, I offer a free 30 minute initial lesson/consultation. This lets me get to know your playing, and lets you decide if we are a good fit!

I teach using an individual curriculum developed for each student according to their wants and goals. I also teach through the AMEB exam syllabus if my student is wanting a more formal route. Lessons are paced as quickly or slowly as my students want.

Lessons are held both in person at my studio, and online via the RockOutLoud Live platform.
